The short and glorious history of the Goodbye Georgie Bush.com Project

Back in March, a few of us were discussing the upcoming election.  About the only thing certain was that George Bush couldn’t get elected again.  “That kind of puts a song in my heart,” said a friend.  I’m just a guy who like to play with “Garage Band”, but put down a little ditty that night on a toy piano from Walgreens.  You’ve probably heard it by now.

Back in August, I was chuckling it up again when I told artist friend about the “Goodbye Georgie Bush” song.  He drew up a crying Georgie Bush portrait and basically dared me to do something with it.  So I checked that night to see if “Goodbye George Bush” was taken.  AND IT WAS.  I presumed by George W. Bush himself, who had anticipated the fun we were about to have and bought the name.  But then I tried “GoodbyeGeorgieBush.com” and there it was ... UNTAKEN.  So I bought the name and started to asking friends and, yes, complete strangers, if they might wanted to be involved.  And they have come out in force, thank you so very much.  To say “Goodbye Georgie Bush”.

The song is recorded piece by piece with all kinds of different people.  A woman I meet on the Subway Train, a drummer from a cover band, a singer from radio shack, and random strangers with guitars.

Illustrators started sending in drawings of Bush, others ... I decided as “Circus Ringleader” I needed to do something too, so that’s when I threw my videography equipment in my little yellow car and took a cross country road trip to see friends and collection Goodbye George Bush comments.

It’s OCTOBER, and I’m about head back across the country THROUGH TEXAS, and then to my CHICAGO home.  We’re considering a BUSH MOB as the BUSH MANSION.  Unless we all chicken out, of course.

The BUSH MOBS started in LA when we picked up an entire carton of GEORGE BUSH MASKS.

SING, DANCE, SHOUT, or SQUAWK your Goodbye to George Bush. We’ll see that it get heard!

Please feel free to join in.
